Tenancy skills for adults who want a home they can keep.

One-on-One service with an experienced and Registered Real Estate Agent who knows how to navigate property management and property managers.

We use real-estate knowledge to teach the skills that get someone through an inspection and keep a lease stable.

Licensed NSW real estate. Registered NDIS provider.

This is capacity building - not property management.

Who it’s for

Adults on the NDIS who are:

  • leaving the family home
  • moving into a private rental, share house or community housing
  • already in a home and at risk of failing an inspection or losing the lease
  • settling after a move that is already lined up

Support coordinators and SIL providers use us as a third party so they are not both the landlord and the person teaching tenancy skills.

What we do

First Keys Skills
Life skills and life-stage transition.

We teach what agents actually look for:

  • how to read a listing (access, stairs, parking, noise, landlord type)
  • what “neat and tidy” means at inspection
  • how a condition report works and why it protects the bond
  • rent, bond and bills in plain language
  • how to request a repair without the conversation going badly
  • first-week routines so a new place does not fall apart

Best if the goal is independent living, leaving home, or settling after a move.

Keep the House
Household tasks, shared living and life skills.

For adults who already have a home.

We build the weekly habits that survive a routine inspection: cleaning and laundry cycles, bins and kitchen standards, shared-space rules, a calm house meeting, and a practice email to the agent.

Best in share houses, SIL-style homes or first rentals that need to stay liveable.

Support around the move

If it is already in the plan, we can also help with:

  • getting to an inspection on time and regulated
  • a packing and utilities checklist for a move they already have
  • share-house readiness
  • linking work, travel and rent day so the lease stays affordable
  • learning the suburb once they have a place, or two real options

What we do not do

We do not find properties.
We do not lodge applications as your agent.
We do not negotiate the lease.
We do not take commission on the home you move into.
We do not give legal advice.
We do not pay rent, bond, removalists or utility bills from NDIS funding.

Those costs stay with you. We teach the skill. You keep the choice.

How we’re different

Most NDIS housing help is a support worker walking through paperwork, a SIL or SDA provider filling their own houses, or a coordinator chasing funding.

First Keys is none of those.

You get coaching from someone who has sat on the agency side of the desk — and a provider who will not also be your landlord.

How it’s funded

First Keys is claimed from supports already used for independent living, including life skills, life-stage transition, household tasks, shared living, travel and community participation, where those items are in the plan.

We will tell you clearly what the plan can pay for and what you pay yourself.

For support coordinators

Refer adults stuck at home, in a collapsing share house, or moving into ordinary rental.

We send a simple service outline, keep tenancy documents separate from support agreements, and stay out of the property search so there is no conflict with your housing work.

Get in touch

Tell us the participant’s living goal and what is already in the plan. We will say whether First Keys Skills, Keep the House, or both is the right fit.

Real-estate knowledge. NDIS capacity building.

Private rental, share house, first independent home.

We teach the skills. We don’t find the property
